The time it took for both Europe and Asia to get to United States was a long while it took many hours specially since the ships back then were very slow and being on a ship for a long time must have been difficult to be in. - This is basically talking about how the Meat Inspection was made because of Sinclair's letter sent to Theodore Roosevelt. Sinclair's letter mentioned how the meat was bad because of the germs that had been on it and also how bad they took care of the meat that was also sent out.
